Our 5 Picks for Fantasy Five Ahead of Gameweek 8 of the PL Season

Fantasy Five

Wolves vs Man City: Erling Haaland - 9.5 Points

The first game to feature on this list is Wolverhampton Wanderers against Manchester City, which is Saturday’s early kick-off at Molineux.

Erling Haaland is the player that we have selected here, following the former Borussia Dortmund man’s impressive start to life in the Premier League. The 22-year-old has managed to score 10 goals and create one assist in six league matches and is on course to smash Premier League records if he maintains his current form.

He will need to score 9.5 points against Wolves here, which means that he will likely have to score twice or score a goal and create an assist without being yellow carded, whilst playing more than 60 minutes of the match.

Newcastle vs Bournemouth: Sven Botman - 6.5 Points

Next up we have chosen Dutch defender Sven Botman, as his side, Newcastle United hosts newly promoted AFC Bournemouth at St James’ Park.

The Magpies have kept three clean sheets in the league this season, doing so in two of their three home matches against Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace, with their 3-3 draw with Premier League champions Manchester City being the only exception at St James’ Park.

A clean sheet is worth four points to a defender, so the 22-year-old former Lille man will need a goal contribution to beat 6.5 points. Botman managed five goals and six assists in 109 appearances for Heerenveen and Lille prior to his summer move to Newcastle.

Tottenham vs Leicester City: Harry Kane - 9.5 Points

Tottenham against Leicester is Saturday’s late Premier League kick-off which could provide plenty of action, as third meets 20th.

England captain Harry Kane is the player that we have chosen here, as the 29-year-old has a superb record against the Foxes, having fired in 19 goals and created four assists in 18 appearances across all competitions.

Kane has also had a superb start to this season, as he has managed to score five goals in six matches. With goals counting as four points each for a striker, he will likely need to score a double to beat his target points here, unless he can rack up some assists (worth three points each for any player).

Brentford vs Arsenal: Ivan Toney - 6.5 Points

Brentford hosts Arsenal on Sunday in what could be a close contest at the Gtech Community Stadium.

The Bees managed a famous 2-0 victory over Arsenal on the opening day of the 2021/22 season and will be hoping to emulate a similar performance here.

Ivan Toney has been a man in form this season, as the 26-year-old former Peterborough United striker has scored five and created two assists in six appearances, including a sensational hat-trick against Leeds United.

He will need two goal contributions against Arsenal if he is to beat his target score.

Everton vs West Ham: Anthony Gordon - 7.5 Points

The final player on this list is Anthony Gordon, who will hope to have a good game for Everton, as they search for their first league win of the season when they take on West Ham at Goodison Park.

Gordon has been one of the Toffees' star players this season, as the 21-year-old Everton academy graduate has scored twice, during 1-1 draws with Brentford and Leeds (50% of their Premier League goals so far this campaign).

With a target of 7.5 points, Gordon will also need two goal contributions, as a goal counts as five points for a midfielder.
