On Friday night, Sporting Braga and Benfica meet in a battle of fourth against third in the Portuguese Primeira Liga.
The last meeting between these two sides back in early November resulted in a thumping 6-1 win for Benfica as Alex Grimaldo, Darwin Nunez, Rafa Silva (2) and Everton Soares (2) all got on the scoresheet.
Heading into this match, Braga are in decent form, having beaten Portimonense 2-1 in their last outing, having drawn 1-1 and beaten AS Monaco 2-0 on either side of a 1-0 defeat to Gil Vicente. Prior to the aforementioned results, Carlos Carvahal’s men drew 1-1 away at Boavista.
Benfica have won four of their last five matches entering this fixture, having defeated Vitoria Guimaraes 3-0, as well as Portimonense and Estoril by 2-1 scorelines on either side of a 1-1 draw with Vizela and 1-0 away win at Ajax in the Champions League.
