Alvaro Morata has been a man in the headlines since moving to the Premier League last season. The Spain international joined for a then club record fee of around £60m and there was instantly huge expectations put on his shoulders. But since swapping Madrid for London he's struggled to hit the back of the net regularly, scoring 21 goals in 63 games which puts him some way behind the Premier League's leading forwards. And it appears that his lack of confidence doesn't just effect him when representing his club side after Sunday nights antics.
On Sunday night he played for Spain in a friendly against Bosnia-Herzegovina at the Estadio de Gran Canaria, the home of Las Palmas. His side came out 1-0 winners but it's a match that'll be remembered for one thing - an absolute stinker of a miss from Morata. The Chelsea man missed a sitter after Marco Asensio broke through from midfield and forced a save from Ibrahim Sehic, the Bosnia-Herzegonvia goalkeeper. The rebound fell quickly to the feet of Morata who somehow managed to hit it wide, to the amazement of his teammates and fans.
The aftermath saw him slump to the ground with his head in hands, he knew it was a golden opportunity to score his 14th international goal. This is by far the worst miss we've seen this weekend - watch it below: (Courtesy of L'Equipe)
