Live television can be a cruel place at times, just as Sky Sports’ Patrick Davidson found out at the John Smith’s Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Davidson was working on the first of the two Sunday Premier League fixtures as Manchester City took on Huddersfield Town away from home, with Pep Guardiola’s side cruising to a 3-0 victory.
Goals from Danilo, Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane wrapped up another three points for City, as they kept within four points of Liverpool at the top of the table. Meanwhile, Huddersfield are now 10 points from safety with just 15 games left to play and without a manager.
The Terriers are currently on the search for David Wagner’s replacement, with reporter Davidson believing that he saw one of their targets, Jan Siewert, sitting in the crowd watching the game.
Seeing an opportunity to grab an exclusive interview with the German, the reporter went into the crowd to speak to him - only to find out that it was not who he thought it was, proving to be just a supporter watching the match!
Watch the hilarious moment Davidson was caught by the Sky cameras making the gaff below.
