When Could Sancho Sign for United?

After bursting onto the scene following the transfer from Manchester City in the summer of 2017, Jadon Sancho has become one of the world's most exciting young prospects. Now, after another fabulous season, the Englishman has netted 19 goals and bagged 18 assists in a campaign where he hasn't just established himself as one of the most promising youngsters, but as the very best in his position.

At the start of the 2019 season, the 20-year-old scored his first international goal against Kosovo in a match which saw him bag a brace. This season alone, the winger has contributed to 33 goals in 32 appearances including a first professional hat-trick in a 6-1 victory over Paderborn.

In recent days, reports have grown like never before between Sancho and Manchester United and it now looks as if the club may finally land the former City man. Reports have suggested that both Borussia Dortmund and United are in constant discussions over the pricing over the fee, some suggesting figures of around £108m which would see him become the most expensive British player ever.

Although, according to Sky Sports, United see this valuation as ‘unrealistic’ especially under the current financial conditions. Despite this, Sancho remains the Red Devils' number one target with both clubs hoping to reach a suitable agreement over the fee and wage soon.

What do the reports say on Sancho?

As the world watches his every step, Sancho was pictured boarding the plane to Switzerland for Dortmund's training camp, with the Daily Mail stating United have now passed the deadline of August 10 for the deal to be signed, sealed and delivered.

The German giants reportedly wanted Sancho to United concluded before the training camp, but it seems as if the deal could not be concluded in time. However, Fabrizio Romano tweeted not long after how personal problems between the winger and the Premier League have never been an issue; the deal seems to lie between the two clubs.

Now, the longer these negotiations go on for, the higher risk that the German side could pull out of the transfer, meaning that Sancho would see himself stay until at least January. It is crucial that the transfer is not delayed so that United can start the season strong, in the hopes of challenging for the title. On top of this, if a deal does get delayed, the possibility of another club coming in and stealing the English man becomes more and more likely since he has attracted a lot of attention.

Clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Liverpool have all been noted in their interest for acquiring the winger's services. It seems like it could be now or never for the Red Devils, but at 1/33 with Paddy Power, things are looking very promising for Sancho signing for United.

Plus, with Solskjaer's men over in Cologne for the Europa League, it's doubtful United will be that fearful of not securing the deal, as they fight for another trophy first.

What does this mean for United?

If Ole Gunnar Solskjaer can bag Sancho, then the chances of regaining a top spot are very promising especially with the likes of Bruno Fernandes, Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial playing alongside him.

The fall of the Manchester club since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013 could finally start to build after a third-place finish this season and Champions League football to look forward to with some of Europe's best at Old Trafford.

The signing of Sancho should help see a huge rise in goals scored for the Red Devils who only managed to achieve 66 this league season. Compared to the rivals of Liverpool and City, it is poor as this season alone saw Liverpool reach 85 goals with Manchester City once again totalling over 100 goals.

Sancho could just be the start of something special at United.
