As one month ends a new one begins. That happened last week as we said goodbye to the record-breaking month 2 and welcomed month 3 of the FA Poker League.
And what a brilliant first week it’s been.
We’ll start off by reminiscing about our opening tournament back on Wednesday 20th. We had a total of 2,542 entries which equated to a handsome prize pot of £12,710. The winner ‘Burnyeat’ eventually took home £1,407.32 on the night with Ray Parlour performing the best out of our bounties finishing in 80th.
For our second tournament on Saturday 23rd, Alan Brazil joined once again on the tables. In addition to him, we had another 2,723 entrants amassing a prizepool of £13,620. This meant that our winner ‘Beansmcdude’ took home £1,341.58.
Finally, Monday 25th was our last tournament of week 1 and it turned out to be one of our most entertaining yet. We were joined by the team behind Under The Cosh with Chris Brown (CoshBrowny) playing a blinder and finishing in 8th while providing some quality singing along the way. The less said about Jon Parkin’s (CoshParky) performance the better! In addition to this we had a surprise appearance from previous guest Ray Parlour (TheRomfordPele) who whittled his way to the final table before going on to win the tournament! That meant Ray walked away £1,393 from the £11,325 prize pot from our 2,265 entries.
With such a great Monday night we’re looking forward to the start of week 2 on Wednesday 27th May. We’ll be joined by special guest Jamie O’Hara who is hoping to make his mark on the competition. There will be a £50 bounty for knocking him out on the night. Good Luck!
