Barrow will be looking to keep themselves inside the top 10 with a win away to Colchester United at the JobServe Community Stadium with the home side heading into this one off the back of their best spell in League Two this season.
Gillingham, Hartlepool United, Rochdale and Colchester have all spent time at the foot of the table in the fourth tier since the start of November. Now, Colchester have managed to rocket themselves into 18th after a fantastic run of form since Christmas.
Matt Bloomfield has guided his side to a 1-0 win against Gillingham on Boxing Day, before losing to Wimbledon. A three-game winning run would come soon after, as Swindon Town, Harrogate Town and Rochdale all fell to defeats against Bloomfield's men. However, by losing to the Gills two weeks back, they have moved closer to the bottom two once more. On the other hand, the U's secured a 1-1 draw against Salford City at home last Tuesday while also beating Hartlepool United on the road last weekend.
It now puts Colchester into 18th and with a gap of eight points on Hartlepool and nine on Gillingham. On the other hand, the Gills have three games in hand and should they win those three, they could move above Colchester. After just four wins all season long compared to Colchester's eight, this is unlikely.
On the other hand, the U's have played more games than every single side in the league this season after a very hectic January. Nevertheless, they cashed in on this busy period with way more points than they were expected and it was clearly worth it.
As for Barrow, they head into this one off the back of a 5-1 demolition by Barrow. In fact, even in getting a goal, the Holker Street side witnessed an own goal and couldn't score one of their own from their two shots on target after also conceding nine shots on target to Carlisle.
Barrow are in ninth now and above Stockport County in 10th by just one point and having played one more game too. Barrow have secured 11 wins so far this season and are behind the top seven by two points. In truth, despite a tough run of form since Christmas, they remain well within the playoff battle and could jump into these spots within a few gameweeks if results go in their favour.
