Leeds United will be giving it one last swing in their attempt to stay up in the Premier League for next season as if they lose here they will have one foot in the Championship as Brighton & Hove Albion aim for the top half.
Leeds have six points left to play for in the league, but with them trailing Burnley by goal difference, if the Clarets win away to Tottenham Hotspur as the Seagulls lose, the club will have to win their last game and overturn more than a 19+ goal difference. Whilst that's a near-impossible feat, Burnley are also not favoured to beat Spurs, so there is a great chance for Leeds to get the upper hand here.
There is, however, very little hope for Jesse Marsch's men right now. Since sacking Marcelo Bielsa, the club have only got worse and they have rocketed into the drop zone after conceding nine goals in three games and scoring one as they lost to Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea. They are back to playing those not competing for the top three, however, and with Brighton up here and then an away trip to Brentford, the Whites should still have some confidence.
Leeds need to recover the form they showed back in April now, a time where they beat Norwich City, edged past Wolverhampton Wanderers, draw with Southampton, and then hammer Watford 3-0. They also drew 0-0 with Crystal Palace, and it looked as if they were set to fight right until the final bell.
Brighton, on the other hand, are coming off the back off arguably their greatest ever Premier League day as they hammered Manchester United 4-0 in a ruthless and clinical display from Potter's side. It has now moved Brighton up into ninth, and although they cannot get into the Europa Conference League spot, Wolves are still out of the win column and Brighton will be eyeing an eighth-placed finish.
