West Ham United are looking to claim successive wins in the Premier League as they travel to face a struggling Burnley side this week.
Burnley currently sit rock bottom of the Premier League with one win, one draw and ten losses from twelve games this season.
Of the three newly promoted teams few expected Burnley to be the one lowest in the league table at this point but they've fallen well short of preseason expectations despite having spent a sizeable chunk of money in the summer transfer window.
They're coming into this game amidst an awful run of form having lost all of their last six games, the most recent of which was a 3-1 defeat away at Arsenal.
They've been really poor in front of goal of late having scored just three times in their last six matches while their defensive showing in that period has been even more shambolic with Vincent Kompany's side having conceded seventeen times in their last six games.
Burnley set a new record a few weeks back when they became the first team to lose all of their first six home games in a Premier League season when they were beaten 0-2 by Crystal Palace so it's hard to point to home advantage being something that might work in their favour here.
Burnley drastically need to start picking up points while things are still tight at the bottom of the table as they can't afford to risk multiple teams pulling away from the relegation zone and games like West Ham at home are the sorts of fixtures that they can't afford to keep losing.
West Ham United currently sit 9th in the Premier League with five wins, two draws and five losses from twelve games this season.
The Hammers have had a solid campaign thus far, and much improved last season, as they look to use least season's Europa Conference League trophy to help them kick on to the next level this time around.
They're coming into this game fairly out of form on the whole, though, having won just one of their last five games in the league with three of their last four ending in defeat.
Their one win did come in their most recent game, however, as they came out on top in a thrilling 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest with Tomáš Souček netting the match-winner after goals from Lucas Paquetá and Jarrod Bowen had the scores level at 2-2.
West Ham's form away from home has not been particularly convincing in recent weeks with David Moyes' side having lost all of their last three games on the road so they'll feel a sense of urgency to turn that around here.
All in all the Hammers should see this as an ideal opportunity to claim two wins on the bounce as they face a side woefully out of form.
For our Burnley vs. West Ham prediction, we're going for a 2-1 win for the away side.
