We have an intriguing clash in EURO 2024 qualifying this weekend as Finland face Slovenia in what looks to be an evenly contested tie.
Finland currently sit 4th in Group H of qualifying with one win and one loss from their first two games of the campaign.
Finland were comfortably beaten away at Denmark by three goals to one in their opening group match before restoring some pride by beating Northern Ireland 1-0 away from home.
The win in Ireland was a big one given they're one of the four main contenders for progression from this group and the three points away from home will stand them in good stead going forward.
Overall Finland's form is still very hit and miss having won just two of their last ten games, but having won their most recent fixture they'll be hoping they can kick on from here.
Their record at home in competitive fixtures is generally very good, with only France, Ukraine and Wales the only sides to take three points from them in a competitive game on their own patch since 2019.
This is a must-win, or at least a must not lose, for Finland if they're hoping to finish in the top two of this group as failure to win here would mean they likely have to win away in Slovenia.
Slovenia currently sit top in Group H of qualifying with two wins from their first two games of the campaign.
Slovenia began proceedings with a 2-1 win away in Kazakhstan before cruising to a 2-0 win at home to San Marino in their most recent encounter.
Admittedly Slovenia have had a kind start to the group, but Denmark have shown that no teams have be taken lightly in qualifying and as such they will be mightily pleased at having done what is required to secure the best possible start.
They're coming into this game in very good overall form, too, having won their last four consecutive matches while going unbeaten in their last eight.
Their form away from home has been decent too, with Slovenia unbeaten in their last five competitive matches on the road.
These sides have seldom locked horns in recent years with only three meetings taking place since 1999, the most recent of which was back in 2017, and both sides have one win each with the other ending in a draw.
This looks set to be a fascinating acting matchup and one that is difficult to call. Either way, whoever wins will have taken a big step towards qualification.
For our Finland vs. Slovenia prediction, we're going for a 1-1 draw.
