Both the Netherlands and Morocco got through the group stage with two wins and a draw from their three matches, so we are predicting a close and competitive clash between the pair in Mexico on Tuesday.
The Netherlands will go into this last 32 match-up with a slight psychological advantage, having won both of the previous two meetings between the nations. On each of those occasions, a 2017 friendly and at the 1994 World Cup, the Netherlands came out on top via a 2-1 scoreline.
Ronald Koeman's team scored heavily during the group stage, netting 10 goals in total, but their attacking brand of football did lead to the Dutch failing to keep a single clean sheet against Japan, Sweden and even a poor Tunisia side. Both teams have scored in six of the Netherlands' last seven international matches, and a clean sheet against Morocco seems unlikely.
Morocco scored six goals during the group stage, but like the Dutch, they have struggled to keep clean sheets of late. Five of the North African's last seven matches have ended with both teams scoring, with Haiti scoring twice against Morocco in their final group game.
This should be a very evenly matched knockout tie, but we are backing the attacking power of the Netherlands to prove decisive in the end.
Netherlands 2-1 Morocco
