5 Handicap Bets for Monday's Internationals - 11/10/21

North Macedonia vs Germany: Germany -2

A spot at Qatar 2022 isn’t yet a formality for Germany and their visit to the Balkans to face North Macedonia on Monday evening will bring back bad memories from the time the pair last met.

Striking in the 85th minute during their shock 2-1 triumph in March, Elif Elmas’s late winner had left Germany languishing outside the qualification spots, yet a post-European Championships turnaround in form has seen them return to the top of Group J.

Now under the tutelage of Hansi Flick, revenge looks a likely prospect when the four-time world champions take on North Macedonia and a Germany -2 handicap at 11/8 looks the way to go.

Croatia vs Slovakia: Croatia -1

Beaten by Ukraine in the round-of-16 during last summer’s European Championships, Croatia were left wanting more from the competition and have since turned their attention to securing qualification for a third consecutive World Cup finals.

Top of Group H heading into the penultimate international break of the season, Croatia will be eyeing up three points against Slovakia, who they were 1-0 winners against in their most recent matchup last month.

Returning to home soil, where they are unbeaten so far in this qualification campaign, don’t be surprised to see Croatia run out comfortable winners, making a -1 handicap at 5/4 another shrewd pick.

Netherlands vs Gibraltar: Netherlands -6

It’s less than a year since the Netherlands hammered seven past Gibraltar without return and the minnows will be once again wary of being on the end of another hiding when they travel to the Dutch capital.

Much like recent years, it hasn’t been the gold standard qualification campaign expected of the Netherlands, yet they do look set to qualify as Group G winners, ahead of Turkey and Norway below them.

What’s more, there is no doubt they will triumph against the group’s bottom-placed side, with the only question a case of how many? We're backing at least five.

Belarus vs Czech Republic: Czech Republic -2

Outscoring England during Euro 2020, the Czech Republic caught the imagination with their performances in the summer and the central European nation are targeting a first World Cup finals appearance since 2006.

Patrik Schick was key to their success at the Euros and the Bayer Leverkusen man has started the season in fine form, netting six times during the Bundesliga so far this campaign. It’s for that reason Jaroslav Šilhavý’s side will be looking to go big when they visit the group’s second-bottom side in Belarus.

Iceland vs Liechtenstein: Iceland -2

It’s been a difficult couple of years for Icelandic football and after making the headlines with their exploits at the previous two tournaments, the Strákarnir Okkar are set for their worse qualification campaign since 2012.

Their dream of back-to-back World Cups, much like their hopes of consecutive European Championships, will most likely end in disappointment, with the Nordic nation second-bottom of Group J and only their Monday night opponents Liechtenstein below them.

Despite their patchy qualification performances, the side ranked third-bottom in the FIFA rankings will likely pose little threat to Iceland, making a -2 handicap a decent target for Arnar Viðarsson’s side.
