Liverpool and Real Madrid lock horns in the Champions League this week in what is the game of the week in Europe's premier competition.
The Reds have been on a shoddy run of results and performances in recent weeks, but after a 2-0 win over Aston Villa at the weekend, they'll be hoping they've turned a corner. Despite largely struggling in the Premier League, the Reds did secure a thumping 5-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in their last Champions League game, which will no doubt be a source of confidence.
There are, though, huge question marks being directed at record signing Florian Wirtz, who has so far struggled to make the expected impact in a red shirt. Wirtz was dropped to the bench for the weekend's game against Aston Villa, but if he manages to impact the game in the minutes he's given on Tuesday, he'll be taking a huge stride towards getting his Liverpool career up and running.
Real Madrid, meanwhile, are flying as they sit top of La Liga with ten wins from eleven games. Los Blancos haven't been perfect in their performances, but they're picking up results at a very impressive rate and in Kylian Mbappe, they have arguably the most in-form player on the planet.
Madrid will also be buoyed by the return to form of Jude Bellingham, who after a spell on the sidelines, is back on top form after putting in a stellar showing against Barcelona in El Classico in recent weeks. This should be an entertaining game between two sides with plenty of attacking talent but clear defensive flaws.
