5 EFL Goalscorer Tips for the Weekend’s Action - 6/8/22

Our first tip is for this weekend's Championship clash between Sheffield United and Millwall at Bramall Lane. We expect Billy Sharp to score in this match - although the Blades didn't get off to the best of starts with a defeat away to Watford, they do still have an abundance of players that can help them back to ultimately having a strong season.

One such player is Billy Sharp, who has scored 126 goals for the club. Sharp scored 14 goals last season, one of which came against Millwall, so we can see him scoring against The Lions and kickstart Sheffield's season.

Our second tip sees Championship new-boys Sunderland travel south to take on Bristol City at Ashton Gate, and we think that Bristol's Andreas Weimann will score in this game to add to his tally so far.

The Austrian scored in Bristol's opening game against Hull, and considering that he managed to bag 22 goals last season, we expect him to have another impressive season, starting with a goal in Saturday's clash.

The first of our League One tips involves MK Dons and last season's play-off semi-finalists Sheffield Wednesday, who take on each other on Saturday. We think that one of Wednesday's key men, midfielder Barry Bannan, will score in this one and help his side to a win.

Bannan scored nine league goals last season in what was an impressive campaign for the Scotsman, and he will be looking to get off the mark for this season - this match against an MK Dons who lost on the opening day presents a good chance to do so.

Last year's play-off finalists take on Bolton in our second League One tip, and for Gareth Ainsworth's side we are predicting a win as they gear up for another campaign where they will be trying to get promoted.

We predict Wycombe's Sam Vokes and Garath McCleary will both score in this one - the pair got 16 and 11 goals respectively last season, and it should be another good goalscoring campaign for them both, especially considering that they are facing an average Bolton side.

Northampton's Sam Hoskins already has two goals this season, and considering the fact that he managed to score 13 goals last season, we expect that he will once again end this season on a double-digit goal tally.

Northampton face a Grimsby side who lost their opening match 2-0 and currently sit 21st in the table, so we expect Hoskins to score first in this match in what should be a simple win for The Cobblers.
