ITV Racing Tips – Saturday 9th May 2026 Best Bets for Lingfield, Haydock & Ascot

ITV's cameras will be at Lingfield, Ascot, and Haydock this weekend, with Classic clues for the Oaks and Derby on offer on the all-weather on Saturday, 9th May.

We have gone through all televised races on Saturday, picking out ITV horse racing tips, and an accumulator for ITV racing.

12:55 - Lingfield - Salamanca City

A bumper Saturday of ITV coverage kicks off with a handicap over a mile and two. Salamanca City could be interesting after making a striking impression on return when winning over the same trip at York in April.

Hasn’t been beaten far on the all-weather, finishing third on two of his seven attempts, including at Newcastle last August. Yard is in excellent form, and the son of Phoenix of Spain is certainly in full working order based on last month’s win.

13:15 - Haydock - Indemnity

Jumps action is also covered from Haydock on Saturday, with the Swinton Handicap Hurdle seeing a maximum field of 17 runners.

Indemnity ticks plenty of the desired trends, including being aged 5 and 7, and rated between 126 and 140. The six-year-old is in excellent recent form, having won impressively over two miles at Plumpton on his latest start over two miles.

Typically thrives at this stage of the year, winning on back-to-back starts in April and May last year. Jonathan Burke is aboard, and that is no negative with the rider striking at 17%.

13:28 - Lingfield - Amora Queen

Clues for the Epsom Oaks will be on offer in the William Hill Oaks Trial Stakes. Romantic Symphony and Cameo should be respected, but Amora Queen could be forgiven for her comeback effort at Doncaster when not beaten too far in a handicap.

She was a two-time winner under rules last season, including when winning on the all-weather at Chelmsford. Struggled at Newmarket at the end of last season when not appearing to handle the track.

Charlie Johnston’s yard is in excellent form, and Silvestre De Sousa is striking at 22%. By 2019 Arc winner Waldgeist so should improve over a trip.

13:45 - Ascot - Deedaydiva

Ascot joins the ITV party at 13:45 with a competitive handicap over a mile. Sean Levey takes the ride on the lightly raced Deedaydiva, who has won once from three starts. She likely needed her return run at Nottingham at the end of last month when finishing third of 12.

Had shown plenty last season, including when winning over seven furlongs at Sandown. A recent run should enhance her chances, and the Alan King yard is among the winners.

13:58 - Lingfield - Maho Bay

Clues for the Derby will be on offer in the William Hill Lingfield Derby Trial Stakes. Maho Bay represents the Charlie Appleby yard, with William Buick booked to take the ride.

Connections teamed up for success in this race with Military Order in 2023. Maho Bay made a striking impression on return at Newmarket, seeing out the mile and two furling trip with ease, beating Amadeus Mozart by three lengths.

Handles the all-weather after winning over a mile and three at Kempton in December. Looks like a progressive stayer by Dubawi, and has already been nibbled at for the Derby next month.

14:20 - Ascot - Houquetot

The big betting race on the day comes in the form of the Victoria Cup. It is well worth taking a chance on one at a price, as only one of the last eleven winners has been the post-time favourite.

Horses rated between 89 and 104 and runners with a fitness edge have an excellent record. Four-year-old Houquetot could out-run his odds for the in-form James Owen team.

The son of Wootton Bassett didn’t appear suited by conditions in the Middle East in January, but he still only finished five lengths off the lead. Seven furlongs is his trip, and he ran excellently on four starts over the trip in France last year, including when not beaten far in the G1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagadere.

Makes his stable debut for the Owen yard this weekend, and he could be staying on better than most in the finale stages.

14:40 - Lingfield - Fouette

The Group Three Chartwell Fillies’ Stakes is up next. Many of the market leaders return after long layoffs, meaning that Fouette could be primed to out-run her odds from a low draw.

The James Horton-trained runner needed her comeback run when tenth at Newcastle over seven furlongs. Should come on for that run, and certainly thrives on the all-weather after winning twice at Southwell and Chelmsford last October.

Had shown some high-quality form before that at York when beating Eighth Avenue by a neck. Will be suited by these terms.

14:55 - Ascot - Valedictory

Another handicap at Ascot is due off at 14:55, with the field completing a marathon trip of a mile and four. Valedictory could be thrown in for the John & Thady Gosden team.

The four-year-old was a beaten favourite last time when a neck behind Rathgar at Newbury. The step up in trip is a major plus to get back on track.

By Cracksman, who has produced high-quality winners over extended distances, so should get this far, and Billy Loughnane’s booking is a plus.

15:15 - Lingfield - Apotheosis

Lingfield’s next race is a handicap over an extended seven furlongs. Simon & Ed Crisford-trained Apotheosis could be on a workable mark after running to great credit when second by a neck in the Sovereign Mile in the Middle East.

Should enjoy dropping back in trip after winning on the all-weather at Newcastle in December, beating Pocklington by over a length. Tom Marquand is a positive booking.
