Anthony Elanga Transfer News & Odds

Manchester United winger Anthony Elanga looks as though he could be on his way out of Old Trafford in January, following interest from the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Everton.

The 20-year-old has played just 392 minutes worth of Premier League football under Erik ten Hag, with the majority of these minutes coming in United's first five games of the season, having started in their victories over Liverpool, Southampton and Leicester.

Last season, Elanga burst onto the scene under interim manager Ralf Rangnick, scoring three goals and creating two assists across all competitions, including a memorable equaliser away at Atletico Madrid in the Champions League's Round of 16 phase.

Borussia Dortmund Odds: 8/11

With their Bundesliga campaign being more turbulent than expected, and losing such an important component of their attack in Erling Haaland this summer, Borussia Dortmund look to Manchester United’s Anthony Elanga to help salvage their season.

Dortmund, who usually occupy the top two spaces in the Bundesliga with fierce rivals Bayern Munich, find themselves sixth, nine points behind league leaders Bayern. Dortmund have eight wins, one draw and six losses in 15 games this season, which puts them behind the likes of Freiburg, Leipzig, Frankfurt and Union Berlin.

This may be in large part to the departure of Haaland. The Norwegian was Dortmund’s top scorer in the Bundesliga last season with 22 goals in 24 games, something their current attacking line up have been unable to replicate, with Youssoufa Moukoko being the current top scorer with six goals in 14 games.

Last season with Manchester United Elanga scored twice and assisted twice in 21 games, but is looking increasingly likely to swap England for Germany, though a transfer for Elanga looks most likely to be a loan at this stage.

Everton Odds: 5/1

Everton currently find themselves in big trouble in the Premier League and manager Frank Lampard has to make as many moves as possible to save The Toffees’ season and his position as manager.

The Toffees sit 19th in the Premier League on just 15 points in 19 games and without a win in their last five games. Though only a point away from safety, their poor run of form isn’t instilling too much faith in Everton to pull through.

Part of the issue has been their poor attacking output, with The Toffees only scoring 15 times this season, giving them an average of 0.79 goals a game. Their top scorer is Demari Gray who has managed five goals and a single assist in 22 games in all competitions.

The addition of a Premier League-proven winger in Elanga could give the Everton attack the boost they need to finally start grabbing wins. Like Dortmund, a move for Elanga for Everton, though likely, will likely just be a loan move for the winger.

Everton are priced at 5/1 to sign Elanga in the January transfer window.

Crystal Palace Odds: 20/1

Another Premier League team interested in the talent of Elanga is Patrick Viera’s Crystal Palace. Stuck in mid-table and comfortably above the relegation zone, The Eagles are looking up the table, and an addition to the attack could help that.

Crystal Palace sit 12th in the Premier League on 22 points, with six wins, four draws and eight losses. However, their form has stagnated since the resumption of the Premier League with just one win in five games, which a new attacking signing may be able to change.

The Eagles have often purely relied on Wilfred Zaha for their attacking output, with him being their current top scorer this season as well with six goals and three assists in 18 games. This season he has found support in Odsonne Edouard who has five goals and two assists in 18 games.

But a good, Premier League-proven winger in Elanga could make the Crystal Palace attack more even and consistent.

Elanga is priced at 20/1 to join Crystal Palace.

Bournemouth Odds: 25/1

With The Cherries looking to stay in the Premier League this season, additions to their attack could be one of the ways new manager Gary O’Neil plans to avoid the drop back into the Championship.

O’Neil’s side currently sit in a precarious position in the Premier League in 17th just a single point above the relegation zone, where all three teams are on the same number of points. Along with this, Bournemouth comfortably have the worst goal difference in the league with -23, largely due to their 9 - 0 loss to Liverpool.

However, Bournemouth also currently have a somewhat lacklustre attack, only scoring 18 goals all season, averaging just 0.95 goals a game. Their top scorers all sit on just four goals each and their top assist provider has just four assists to his name.

This could be remedied with the addition of Elanga, who despite his young age, has already played seasons in the Premier League and provided both goals and assists.

Elanga is priced at 25/1 to make the switch from Man Utd to Bournemouth.

Southampton Odds: 25/1

Southampton is yet another Premier League club allegedly battling for Elanga’s signature this January, with The Saints looking to boost their squad to avoid the drop to the Championship, where they were last in 2012.

The Saints currently sit rock bottom of the Premier League with 15 points, four wins, three draws and 12 losses. However, on a positive note for them, they are only a point away from safety after their most recent 2 - 1 win over Everton.

Though both Che Adams and James Ward-Prowse have scored a good number of goals for Southampton this season, eight and seven respectively, neither of their current wingers seem to be finding the back of the net.

Elanga could be a good choice for The Saints, as he has proven he can do it in the Premier League, however, they do face a tough battle with others in the league to sign the winger, even just for a loan.

Southampton are priced at 25/1 to acquire Elanga from Man Utd.
