According to reports from Spain, Barcelona are looking to move Frenkie de Jong on for around £60m, as they look to further integrate the likes of Pedri, Gavi and Nico into their first team, whilst saving around £354,000 per week, with the Dutchman being the highest-paid player at the Nou Camp.
De Jong joined Barca in the summer of 2019 after Ajax’s impressive run to the Champions League semi-final for a fee of around £63m, having been linked with the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United and PSG.
In his time at the Nou Camp, the 25-year-old has just one major honour to his name, with that being the 2020/21 Copa del Rey, following a thumping 4-0 victory in the final over Athletic Bilbao, where the 25-year-old was instrumental, as he scored a goal and created two assists.
