Tottenham take on Man United in the Premier League this weekend, with the latter hoping to maintain their good run of form.
Tottenham’s season has been a rollercoaster so far, with an impressive start giving way to a slump in form and results, before signs of a revival began to emerge in the past week. Spurs' performances have been mind-numbingly boring at times under Thomas Frank which has made many fans become restless, with the team showing a reluctance to build attacks through the middle of the pitch, making them predictable.
A 0-1 defeat to Chelsea in which they only managed three shots on goal was a low point in the season, but Frank made some tactical adjustments in mid-week which led to the team securing a dominant 4-0 win over FC Copenhagen.
The team still has a lot to prove and fans are still sceptical, but it at least provides a source of optimism for many fans whose perspective has been dwindling for a number of weeks.
Like Spurs, Man United have had a whirlwind of a campaign, but their fortunes have rolled out in reverse. The Red Devils started the campaign in awful fashion, but following a few subtle tactical tweaks, the team has made noticeable improvements which are backed up by results.
Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha are proving their worth in red colours, while Casemiro is a man reborn. Ruben Amorim has been under significant pressure for months now, but if he can keep the team on its current trajectory, he may just be a success at the club after all.
