#TheGroupChat: Have Arsenal and City Turned a Corner?

Latest News

Can Mikel Arteta Propel Arsenal into the European Spots?

At the start of the season, Arsenal were barely backed in for challenge towards the top end. In fact, after five seasons without Champions League football, the Gunners were 4/1 in some places to get inside the top four and to achieve top six status, they found themselves an 11/8 outsider to do so after Leicester City's recent climb.

On the other hand, teams hit form at different times and following what seemed like an early battle for top half positions, Mikel Arteta's side are on a three-game winning streak and really got the fans back on their side following a demolition job in the north London derby.

Arsenal were 3-0 up inside the first half and while much of this was down to Tottenham Hotspur's torrid spell, we should take nothing away from what Arteta has done over the last few weeks because ultimately, we would all be the first to kick them when they're down.

However, Alan McInally is having none of it... take a listen to the latest Arsenal odds below after they're slashed to get into the top six.

A tactical masterclass from Pep

Picking a winner for the Premier League at the start of the season was anybody's guess. We, of course, have the champions Manchester City, but a Virgil van Dijk return for Liverpool, as well as a return for Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea and Cristiano Ronaldo to Manchester United, we saw the odds tighten after the transfer window.

Now, City have beaten Chelsea at Stamford Bridge once again and have been pushed back towards the favourites for the title in the eyes of many.

"It was a poor, poor showing [from Chelsea]," McInally stated. "City were absolutely brilliant," the ex-Bayern Munich man echoed.
