This weekend has been a massive one in the Premier League with some hugely important matches, we've seen derby clashes such as Chelsea v Fulham, Liverpool v Everton whilst Manchester City won again to consolidate their place in top spot. On Sunday arguably the biggest game took place, with Arsenal and Tottenham facing off in what looked like a fantastic North London derby. There's no love lost between both clubs and this rivalry runs deep, so whoever rolled out winners would have a huge boost going into the frantic festive period. And it was the home side who came out on top, with Unai Emery picking up the three points in his first derby.
It was a deafening afternoon at the Emirates and it was the perfect showcase for just how good the Premier League is. It's been a tough couple of years for Arsenal and when the full-time whistle was blown the outpour of emotion showed just how important that win was. One player who enjoyed it more than most was another NLD debutant Matteo Guendouzi. The young Frenchmen has made a big impression since arriving at the Emirates this summer and he's someone that the supporters have really taken to.
When leaving the stadium yesterday a group of Gunners fans spotted him and immediately ran over to his window. Doing a bit of a Harry Redknapp, Guendouzi got firmly involved in the celebrations with the supporters which brought a fantastic reaction. Not often you see Premier League footballers getting so involved with the fans so the 19 year-olds stock is certainly going to rise amongst the Gunners faithful!
