One of the favourites for the Champions League are back in action this Wednesday with Barcelona welcoming Shakhtar Donetsk to Spain after a perfect start to their campaign in Europe that see the home side with the best record so far.
Barcelona are yet to lose a game this season in all competitions and now head into this match with a perfect record of two wins, six goals scored and none conceded from their Champions League matches so far.
They started this run with a 5-0 win over Royal Antwerp on matchday one, as Joao Felix put on a clinic with two goals and an assist. Robert Lewandowski also scored that day too before Gavi netted a goal from one of the 22 shots towards goal. Porto were up next for Barca, and Ferran Torres scored the game's only goal that day before Gavi was sent off in the dying embers of the match - he now misses this one due to a suspension.
Xavi's side are also unbeaten in La Liga, but they did draw 2-2 with Granada shortly after their win over Porto, as Lamine Yamal scored before Sergi Roberto equalised in a comeback draw from 2-0 down. Barcelona had 81% of the ball that day and 10 shots on target.
History was made when Barcelona beat Athletic Club 1-0 over the weekend, as 17-year-old Marc Guiu scored after only three touches in what was his professional debut in football.
Shakhtar Donetsk come into this one with still a chance to qualify, but they are facing the idea that they cannot drop many more points with Porto sitting in second and expected to beat Royal Antwerp at the same time. The Ukrainian side have Won one and lost one, as they came from two goals down to beat Royal Antwerp last time out. Danylo Sikan scored twice that day with two second half goals, as Yaroslav Rakitiskyi bagged the winner.
They did, however, lose to Porto after Kevin Kelsy scored, and this now puts Shakhtar behind Porto in the race for the two by two points.
