Jude Bellingham Transfer News & Odds

Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham is a name that will be on the lips of every England fan after some impressive displays for the Three Lions at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The 19-year-old is having a superb season for Dortmund at club level too, having scored nine times and created three assists across all competitions, with four of these goals being just five Champions League outings. It is expected the sale of Bellingham would see the Black and Yellows net a hefty triple-figure sum, due to their midfielder’s current ability and the potential to grow even more.

Bellingham initially joined the Signal Iduna Park club in July 2020, having been close to a move to Manchester United. The fee that the German Bundesliga outfit paid for the Stourbridge-born midfielder was £25m with future performance-related add-ons, making him the most expensive 17-year-old in football history at the time.

Manchester City Odds: 3/1

Manchester City are the current favourites to sign Bellingham, as Pep Guardiola’s men seem intent on strengthening what is already a world-class squad.

According to recent newspaper reports, City would be willing to allow Jack Grealish to leave the Etihad Stadium in order to land the ex-Birmingham midfielder. On top of this, with speculation that Bernardo Silva could leave to join Barcelona in the summer, and Ilkay Gundogan being 32 years of age, the signing of Bellingham could allow the Sky Blues to build their next generation of talent alongside Phil Foden and Erling Haaland.

City have shown in the last two transfer windows that they have the capability to make mega-money signings having signed Haaland and Grealish, so there is no reason for the Sky Blues not to make this one happen.

Liverpool Odds: 4/1

It is no secret that Liverpool have had a long-standing interest in Bellingham and with Jurgen Klopp’s side not strengthening their midfield last summer bar the loan signing of Arthur from Juventus, there is speculation that the Anfield club could be set to make a huge offer, like we saw when they signed Alisson, Virgil van Dijk and Darwin Nunez.

Liverpool are known to be strategic when it comes to making signings, as they tend to bide their time and wait to sign their main target, this could be the case here, although their chances of making this happen could hinge on picking up some form as they sit sixth in the Premier League standings.

Bellingham is priced at 4/1 to make the move from the Signal Iduna Park to Anfield.

Real Madrid Odds: 8/1

Real Madrid are going through a phase of regenerating their timeless midfield.

Last season, the trio of Toni Kroos, Casemiro and Luka Modric was finally broken up, as their Brazilian defensive midfielder departed to join Manchester United in August, however, they did replace him with AS Monaco star Auerlien Tchouameni.

On top of this, in the background, Real also had Federico Valverde and Eduardo Camavinga on their books who are both waiting in the shadows for the days when Kroos (32 years old) and Modric (37 years old) finally leave the club. Valverde has tended to reinvent himself as a right-winger of late, but, the signing of Bellingham would give Los Blancos a midfield that could be as good as anyone else’s for the next decade.

Real are priced at 8/1 to sign Bellingham from Dortmund.

Manchester United Odds: 16/1

As previously mentioned, Manchester United were incredibly close to signing Bellingham when he was at Birmingham City, with legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson even giving the Three Lions man a tour around Carrington in a bid to sway the midfielder’s decision, however, it wasn’t meant to be.

The Red Devils managed to sign Jadon Sancho from Dortmund for a hefty price in the summer of 2021, could they be about to make another huge signing from the Germany Bundesliga outfit?

It is no secret that Erik ten Hag wants to improve his midfield trio of Casemiro, Christian Eriksen and Bruno Fernandes, could Bellingham about to be added to this? On top of this, there have been rumours that the Red Devils will allow Fred’s contract to expire in the summer of 2023, meaning that more wages will be freed up for the summer transfer window, with the Brazilian reportedly earning £120,000 per week.

United are priced at 16/1 to sign Bellingham in January.

Chelsea Odds: 20/1

Chelsea have been free-spending ever since new owner Todd Boehly took over from Roman Abramovich, could they be about to splash the cash on England’s brightest prospect?

Last summer, Chelsea spent just shy of £250m on new signings as Boehly looked to make a statement of intent. Clearly, money is of no object to the American, as having already splashed out some eye-watering transfer fees, the Blues also missed out on Frenkie de Jong and Anthony Gordon who they were prepared to pay huge sums of money for too.

At present, Chelsea currently sit eighth in the Premier League and will have to show some signs of improvement if they are to land the England star. But, could they submit a blockbuster office that will trump the rest of the midfielder’s suitors?

Chelsea are priced at 20/1 to sign Bellingham in January.
