Fulham vs Tottenham Prediction & Betting Tips

The late Saturday kick-off in the Premier League sees a London derby between Fulham and Tottenham. Spurs look to close in on Champions League football whereas Fulham aim to grab a spot in the top half of the table.

            Date: 16/03/2024

            Kick-off time: 17:30

            Location: Craven Cottage

The mid-table has gotten tight, and a win for Fulham could bring them into the top half of the table. Tottenham, however, after the game against Aston Villa, are two points from Champions League football.

Fulham currently sit 12th in the Premier League after 28 games. The Cottagers have ten wins, five draws and 13 losses, leaving them on 35 points, five points from the top half of the table.

The Cottagers have been in good form in front of goal this season, scoring 40 goals in 28 games, giving them an average of 1.43 goals a game. Fulham have been better defensively, conceding 44 goals and keeping seven clean sheets.

Tottenham, on the other hand, currently sit fifth in the Premier League. In 27 games, Spurs have 16 wins, five draws and six losses which leaves them on 53 points, six points ahead of Manchester United and two points from Champions League football.

Spurs have also been scoring for fun, scoring 55 goals in 27 games, an average of 2.12 goals a game. Tottenham have been a little less consistent at the other end of the pitch, conceding 39 goals and keeping just five clean sheets.

Fulham and Tottenham have met 104 times in their histories, with the first meeting coming all the way back in 1903. Tottenham have dominated this fixture with 55 wins in comparison to Fulham's 19 wins. In fact, a draw is more common than a Fulham win, happening on 30 occasions.

In the last five games in the fixture, Tottenham have won on four occasions, the other game, a League Cup tie, ended in a 1 - 1 draw, but Fulham won on penalties. Also, there have only been two instances of both teams being on the scoresheet in the last five games, but the defensive records of both teams suggest this might change.

            Recent Form

In their last five games in all competitions, Fulham have three wins and two losses.

The visit from Bournemouth saw Fulham take an early lead. Bobby De Cordova-Reid opened the scoring in the sixth minute and Rodrigo Muniz doubled Fulham’s lead before halftime. Just five minutes into the second half, Marcos Senesi got Bournemouth on the scoresheet but another goal from Muniz secured the 3 - 1 win for Fulham.

Muniz was on the scoresheet again for Fulham against Aston Villa, but this time his goal acted more as a consolation for The Cottagers. A goal in either half for Ollie Watkins grabbed a 2 - 1 win for Aston Villa.

Fulham bounced back against Manchester United. Calvin Bassey opened the scoring for Fulham in the 65th minute but Harry Maguire thought he had secured a point for United with his goal in the 89th minute. However, Alex Iwobi scored in the 97th minute to bag a 2 - 1 win for Fulham.

Harry Wilson and Muniz both scored in the first half to give Fulham the 2 - 0 lead over Brighton at halftime. Despite The Seagulls having 71% of the possession, Adama Traore scored in the 91st minute to secure a 3 - 0 win for Fulham.

The last time out for Fulham was against Wolves. Iwobi scored late on again for Fulham in the 98th minute, but it wasn’t enough as a goal from Rayan Ait-Nouri and an own goal from Tom Cairney gave Wolves the 2 - 1 win.

In their last five games in all competitions, Tottenham have three wins, one draw and one loss.

Richarlison opened the scoring early against his old team Everton, but Jack Harrison pulled Everton level before the 30 minute mark. Another goal from Richarlison regained the lead for Tottenham before halftime but a 94th minute goal from Jarrad Branthwaite grabbed a 2 - 2 draw for Everton.

A penalty from Pascal Gross gave Brighton the 1 - 0 lead at halftime, but a goal from Pape Matar Sarr equalised for Tottenham just after the hour mark. In the 96th minute, Brennan Johnson popped up with a goal to secure a 2 - 1 win over Brighton.

However the next time out against Wolves saw Tottenham on the wrong side of the 2 - 1 scoreline. Joao Gomes opened the scoring late in the first half to give Wolves the 1 - 0 lead at halftime. Dejan Kulisevski drew Tottenham level just one minute into the second half but another goal from Gomes bagged the 2 - 1 win for Wolves.

Eberechi Eze gave Crystal Palace the lead just before the hour mark but a busy last 15 minutes from Tottenham saw Timo Werner, Cristian Romero and Son Heung-min all score to give Tottenham the 3 - 1 win.

The most recent outing for Tottenham was against Aston Villa. James Maddison, Johnson, Son and Werner all scored in the 4 - 0 thrashing of ten-man Villa who had John McGinn sent off early in the second half.
