City played out an entertaining 2-2 draw with Liverpool on Sunday and prior to their victory over Atletico, they had defeated the likes of Burnley 2-0 and Southampton 4-1, with the latter match being in the FA Cup.

Liverpool and Benfica face off at Anfield in the Champions League quarter-finals, with Jurgen Klopp’s men holding a 3-1 advantage from the first leg.

The Anfield club drew 2-2 at the Etihad Stadium against Manchester City on Sunday after their 3-1 win in Portugal. Prior to the aforementioned games, they had beaten Watford and Arsenal by 2-0 scorelines on either side of a 1-0 victory against Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup.

Benfica earned themselves a comfortable 3-1 win over Belenenses at the weekend as Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez scored a hat-trick. Before their defeat to Liverpool, Benfica had lost 3-2 to Sporting Braga after beating Estoril and Ajax by 2-1 and 1-0 scorelines.

In the A-League, Perth Glory Glory takes on Wellington Phoenix in a battle of 12 against sixth in the standings.

Perth come into this match off the back of a humiliating 6-1 away loss to Newcastle Jets. Glory had also lost 1-0, 4-2 and 2-1 against Melbourne Victory, Macarthur and Wellington in three of their last four games prior to this drubbing.

Meanwhile, since their 2-1 victory over Perth back in late March thanks to goals from Ben Waine and Nicholas Pennington, Wellington have since beaten Brisbane Roar 3-0, but, suffered two heavy 6-0 and 5-0 defeats to Melbourne City and Central Coast Mariners before hammering Western United 4-1 last time out.

The final tip on this list is another from the A-League as 11th place Western Sydney Wanderers faces eighth in the table Central Coast Mariners.

Western Sydney haven’t won any of their last four matches, following two 1-1 draws with Brisbane Roar and Melbourne Victory on either side of a 3-2 defeat to Sydney after a 0-0 draw with Adelaide United, just four days after beating the latter opponent 2-1 away from home.

Central Coast will be looking to bounce back from their shock 5-0 loss to Sydney in their last outing. The Mariners had thumped Wellington Pheonix 5-0 before that, as well as drawing 2-2 with Western United and beating Adelaide United and Macarthur by 3-0 and 4-2 scorelines.
