Cyprus vs Georgia Prediction, Tips & Stats

Cyprus and Georgia have both played out just one game in Group A of the Euro 2024 qualifiers so far and have a game in hand to play on those around them after winless starts to their campaign.

Cyprus did play out a 2-2 draw with Armenia in their other game back in the March internationals after Andreas Karo and Demetris Christofi scored a goal geach alongside a red card for Kostaskis Artymatas late on in the game.

The nation also lost to Scotland in their one and only game so far in Group A, with the 2-0 loss seeing Cyprus have just two shots on target in a fairly easy win for Scotland.

It has now extended Cyprus' winless run to three games since stunning Greece in September, as they also lost 5-1 to Kosovo in their final Nations League outing of 2022.

Georgia managed to draw 1-1 with Norway in their sole game in Group A back in March after smashing Mongolia 6-1 in a friendly that saw five different goalscorers get in on the act. Georges Mikautadze scored the equalising goal for Georgia against Norway during that international break too.

          Cyprus team news

Konstantinos Laifis is the most-capped defender for Cyprus in the current squad and he should feature here with Nicholas Ioannou also set to play alongside Marios Antoniades. St Mirren's Alex Gogić should also get another cap here with Salernitana's Grigoris Kastanos also set to feature in midfield. Kostakis Artymatas will play in midfield once more with Charalambos Kyriakou as well. Marinos Tzionis has been playing regularly for Sporting Kansas City this year and he should play here. Demetris Christofi has nine goals for Cyprus and no player has more than him. Pieros Sotiriou is out injured for his country, as is Fanos Katerlaris.

          Georgia team news

Giorgi Loria has earned 77 caps for Cyprus but could miss out on a 78th appearance for Giorgi Mamardashvili of Valencia in goal. Guram Jashia will captain his side from the back with his 103rd cap. Alongside him, Solomon Kvirkvelia and Otar Kakabadze should feature in defence with Solomon Kvirkvelia likely playing too. Nika Kvekveskiri should get his 53rd cap in this game alongside Saba Lobzhanidze and Zuriko Davitashvili with Giorgi Chakvetadze also set to play in midfield. All attention turns on the Serie A Player of the Season, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, as he goes in search of his 11th goal in just 21 caps for Georgia. Davit Khocholava is out injured for his country, as is Valeri Qazaishvili and Giorgi Aburjania.
