Serbia vs. Bulgaria Prediction, Tips & Stats

Serbia are looking to book their place in Germany next summer as they face Bulgaria in qualifying for Euro 2024.

Serbia currently sit 2nd in Group G with four wins, one draw and two losses from seven games.

It's been a solid qualifying campaign for Serbia even though it's been much less comfortable than they would have liked.

All outcomes are still on the table with just one game remaining and they need only a point from this encounter to confirm their place in next summer's tournament while a win could see them finish in top spot depending on how Hungary fare at home to Montenegro.

They're coming into this game amidst fairly poor run of form on the whole having won two and lost three of their last five games, the most recent of which was a 1-0 loss away at Belgium in a friendly last week.

Their form at home, though, has been decent of late as they enter this one having won three of their last four at home, even if the one loss did come in their biggest test against Hungary.

Serbia have a recent history of qualifying for tournaments in impressive fashion before failing to make their mark on the tournament itself so they'll be hoping this time that a more modest qualification attempt is followed by a stronger showing in the tournament finals - providing they get there, of course.

A point here is all they need for qualification and given how heavily Bulgaria have struggled in this group and it's more than likely they'll get it.

Bulgaria currently sit bottom of Group G with zero wins, three draws and four losses from seven games.

It's been a hugely disappointing effort from Bulgaria this out having failed to register a single win and they'll be hoping they can turn that around at the final attempt.

They're entering this game, expectedly, in poor form as they're winless in their last ten games having lost four of their last five.

Their most recent game saw them draw 2-2 at home to Hungary, a game in which they were agonisingly denied a first win of the qualifying campaign with an own goal in the 97th minute.

The result in a vacuum was not a bad one, but the manner in which they drew will mean the result will have felt like a defeat so they're now coming into this game with their heads down.

Given how much Serbia have to play for here it feels overwhelmingly likely that Bulgaria will fall to yet another loss.

For our Serbia vs. Bulgaria prediction, we're going for a 2-0 win for the home side.

          Serbia Team News

Expect a few changes from the loss against Belgium, with Nikola Milenković coming back into the defence with Nemanja Gudelj moving back into the midfield.

Aleksandar Mitrović should replace Dušan Vlahović up top while Dušan Tadić should return to the starting XI.

          Bulgaria Team News

Valentin Anton is unavailable through suspension after a first half red card against Hungary so Zhivko Atanasov should take his place in the heart of the defence.

Otherwise, Bulgaria will likely stick with the same side that started the 2-2 draw with Hungary.
