The Festival feature is run on Saturday, as a competitive field has been assembled for the Ebor Handicap.
Trends indicate looking for runners aged between four and six (11/12), those carrying between 9-1 and 9-9 (11/12), and horses that hold an official rating of between 101 and 108 (10/12).
Daiquiri Bay looks like a leading chance based on the trends. The Alan King-trained runner has looked like a transformed horse since being gelded, winning more healthily than the winning margin has suggested at Newmarket and Royal Ascot.
His recent success in the Copper Horse Stakes (also won by Fujaira Prince before landing the Ebor in 2020) could be a notable form line, with the well-fancied Paddy The Squire finishing back in third.
Daiquiri Bay also has previous course form, finishing third over a mile and six in last year’s Melrose Handicap. There still looks to be untapped potential in the selection over staying trips. Klassleader is another worthy of consideration.
