Romelu Lukaku is on the lookout for a new club having not even been given a squad number at Stamford Bridge for the 2023/24 season.

Chelsea paid a staggering £97.5m fee to bring the 30-year-old back to Stamford Bridge in August 2021 following an impressive two-year spell at Inter Milan between 2019 and 2021 when he scored 47 goals in 72 Serie A matches. Last season, the Belgium international returned to Inter Milan on loan, where he had an underwhelming spell, only managing 10 league goals.

With Chelsea desperately looking to sell Lukaku after their near £1bn spend under the ownership of Todd Boehly in just 12 months, many will be posing the question as to where he’ll end up come the end of the transfer window.

According to reports from the likes of Alfredo Pedulla, Tottenham have held exploratory talks about signing Lukaku from Chelsea, having sold Harry Kane to Bayern Munich for €100m plus €10m bonuses.

Although Spurs have had a good start to the season in beating the likes of Manchester United and drawing 2-2 at Brentford, they will need more goals from their main striker, as Brazilian forward Richarlison has scored just one Premier League goal since his move from Everton last summer.

Lukaku had a good Premier League goalscoring record prior to departing Manchester United at the end of the 2018/19 season, having scored 113 goals across seven seasons with the likes of West Brom, Everton and the Old Trafford club.

Juventus have been linked with Lukaku, with rumours that the Turin club are willing to do a swap deal with Chelsea for highly-rated Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic.

The Old Lady were excluded from the UEFA Europa Conference League this season due to Financial Fair Play issues and have invited Chelsea to bid for Vlahovic with the likes of Lukaku involved as they are looking for a deal that boosts their cash flow in order to comply with UEFA’s financial regulations.

Lukaku had an impressive goalscoring record in Italy during his initial spell with Inter Milan between 2019 and 2021, scoring 47 goals in 72 games, while also winning the Serie A title during his time under Antonio Conte in 2020/21.
