Two sides with little to play for meet in League Two this weekend as Colchester United face Sutton United.
Colchester United currently sit 20th in League Two with eleven wins, thirteen draws and nineteen losses from forty-three games this season.
It looks as though this campaign is going to turn out to be a successful one for Colchester who look on course to secure survival, something that looked very much in doubt in the early weeks of the season.
Instead, they've managed to pull away from the relegation zone with a number of good runs of form and it would take some very unlikely happenings to drag them into the bottom two from here.
They enter this game amidst a good run of form having gone unbeaten through their last seven matches, winning two and drawing three of their last five.
Their most recent outing saw them held to a 0-0 draw away at Crawley Town, a result that puts them within touching distance of survival.
Their form at home has been solid of late having won one and drawn two of their last three on home soil, with their most recent home game ending in a 4-0 thumping of Crewe Alexandra.
Colchester are seven points clear of the drop zone with just three games remaining so even if they don't manage a desired result here they may still secure survival depending on results elsewhere.
Sutton United currently sit 10th in League Two with fifteen wins, twelve draws and sixteen losses from forty-three games this season.
Sutton have had a pretty successful campaign and have spent periods of the season looking like a legitimate play-off contender, but a shoddy run of form in the last seven weeks effectively killed whatever hopes of a top seven finish they had.
They enter this game having failed to win any of their last eight matches while losing their last four consecutive outings.
Their most recent game saw them fall to a 1-2 defeat at home to Northampton Town, a result that should not be held against them too harshly given Northampton are an automatic promotion contender.
Sutton's away form has been mixed of late having won one, drawn three and lost one of their last five games on the road.
They can take confidence from the fact they beat Colchester 1-0 when the two sides met in the league back in December, but given the form of the two times the home side are a smarter bet here.
For our Colchester vs. Sutton prediction, we're going for a 2-1 win for the home side.
